How to measure

1.

Paper against wall

Place a sheet of paper flat on the floor against a wall. Stand on it with your heel touching the wall.

2.

Mark longest toe

With a pencil held straight, mark the tip of your longest toe on the paper.

3.

Measure the distance

Use a ruler to measure from the edge of the paper (wall) to your mark in centimeters. This is your foot length.

Fit tips & brand notes

Nike tends to run small in many models, especially Dunks and Air Force 1s. Consider half a size up.

Italian brands (Diesel, Versace, Gucci) frequently run one full size smaller than US standards.

Converse Chuck Taylors typically run a full size large. Size down for the best fit.

New Balance tends to run true to size across most models and widths.

Frequently asked questions

Do pumps fit differently than sneakers?+

Yes. Pumps and heeled shoes often run half a size smaller because your foot slides forward. Many women size up half a size for pumps compared to their sneaker size. Open-toe styles may feel more forgiving.

Does pregnancy change shoe size?+

Yes. During pregnancy, hormonal changes and increased body weight can cause feet to widen and lengthen permanently by half to one full size. It is worth remeasuring after pregnancy.

Are EU shoe sizes the same for women and men?+

EU sizes are technically unisex, but in practice the same EU number on a men\'s shoe may have a wider last than a women\'s. A women\'s EU 39 and a men\'s EU 39 have the same length but different widths.

What is a wide width in women\'s shoes?+

Wide width is typically labeled W or D in women\'s shoes. Standard women\'s width is B. If you frequently feel tightness across the ball of your foot, try a wide width in the same size rather than sizing up.

Why does my right foot measure differently?+

Most people have slightly different sized feet. Always measure both and use the larger measurement when selecting a shoe size. The difference is usually less than half a size.
